Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing RB Leipzig defender Nordi Mukiele in the summer transfer window, that is according to a report from L’Equipe (via Get French Football News).
It is suggested that the 22-year-old is of huge interest to Spurs and that the north London club have already initiated contact with the Bundesliga side with a view to getting a deal done.
The Frenchman has played a fair amount of football for Leipzig this season, featuring 28 times across all competitions including 23 starts. Despite being a defender he has managed to chip in with three goals and two assists in that time and has shown great versatility, playing at centre-back, right-back and even right-midfield at times this term (Transfermarkt).
His performances have certainly been impressive, indeed he wins 5.5 duels per Bundesliga match on average, whilst also making 2.2 tackles, 1.9 clearances and 1.6 interceptions. Added to that he has made no errors which have led to a shot, penalty or goal (SofaScore).
Loads of Spurs fans have been reacting to the transfer link with the £18m valued ace. One fan suggested that Mukiele is better than another reported Tottenham target Max Aarons, whilst another claimed that the French u-21 international is more of a Jose Mourinho type defender than the Norwich City man.
