da bet esporte: Tottenham Hotspur have found themselves suffering a major injury crisis with Steven Bergwijn the latest man to be sat on the treatment table. He joins the likes of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Moussa Sissoko.
da pixbet: It’s been that bad, manager Jose Mourinho has joked about wanting to simulate to the summer if such powers were in his control.
And despite refuting a potential squad overhaul in a recent press conference, it seems likely that the Portuguese chief will have plenty of decisions to make in terms of what players he will want to remain at the north London outfit.
This week, the club have been linked to Real Madrid centre-back Eder Militao as rumours continue to circulate over the future of Jan Vertonghen.
El Desmarque claim Mourinho is eyeing up a move for the Brazilian this summer, so we’ve tasked our writers to run the mill over any potential deal.
Here’s what has been said…

“Spurs certainly need a central defender this summer.
“There’s a lingering uncertainty over Jan Vertonghen’s future – he’s yet to sign a new contract and his recent form suggests Spurs might be better off letting him go – while Davinson Sanchez’s form has been erratic at best.
“A move for Militao seems perfect on paper. He’s an athletic presence, a strong tackler and a pacey covering defender but he doesn’t have all that much experience.
“He’s played just 13 times for Real Madrid this season and it would be something of a gamble bringing him in.
“However, needs must at this point. Spurs can’t be too choosy if Vertonghen does depart and Sanchez’s poor form continues.”

“Despite playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world in Real Madrid, Eder Militao hasn’t proven anything in his time in Spain that he could be the answer to Spurs’ problems. He has played just 13 times across all competitions this season and would arrive in north London with the tag of not being able to hack it at the very highest level.
“The north Londoners need someone who can come straight into the starting line-up, and command the entire back-line. Turning to a 22-year-old whose only consistent years of experience in European football came in the Portuguese top-flight with Porto, doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.
“For every Cristiano Ronaldo, you get a Helder Postiga. And Spurs fans will know all about that second one. Daniel Levy should see red flags over a potential move for Militao, who would be a complete waste of money.”

“Militao may have got off to a false start in Madrid, but positive signs can be taken from the Porto form that got him a move to the Bernabeu in the first place.
“As the Portuguese league is considered a lesser level, it is best to look towards his Champions League form for inspiration. In his nine games, the Brazilian averaged 2.6 tackles, 1.9 interceptions and 4.4 clearances per game, while even recording two goals and an assist. His pass success rate was 86.6%, with these statistics showing just how useful he can be on and off the ball.
“Considering that form and the fact he is 22 years old, Militao represents an option that is far better than Jan Vertonghen.”

“Spurs manager Jose Mourinho is facing a rebuild job later this summer and he can kickstart a squad overhaul by beginning with his defence through the coup of Eder Militao.
“The Brazilian’s time at the Bernabeu has gone far from swimmingly since joining in a €50m deal (£43.6m) from Porto last summer – he has managed only 992 minutes from 13 appearances, per Transfermarkt.
“Militao is described as a “fast and aggressive” defender who is also “big”, “strong” and “very athletic” which would fit the profile that Mourinho may be chasing.
“Davinson Sanchez’s form has been inconsistent while Japhet Tanganga seems far from being ready for senior football. Both players were bullied against Wolves recently in a display that showed why their defensive frailties are the big issue going forward not a backup to Harry Kane.”
Where is he from?! Can you name which obscure countries these famous players have represented?
