Celtic have made a bid to sign a new midfielder who could replace Jeffrey Schlupp following his loan spell at Parkhead.
Celtic loan move for Schlupp expires in the summer
The 32-year-old, who has turned out as a left-back, central midfielder, left-winger and forward during his career, moved to the Hoops in the January transfer window.
Penning a loan deal until the end of the season under Brendan Rodgers, Schlupp has made 10 appearances for Celtic so far, scoring once and providing one assist.

The Ghana international is out of contract at Selhurst Park in the summer, which has resulted in rumours of a permanent Celtic move on a free transfer. Pundit Michael Stewart has backed Schlupp to seal a permanent transfer to Glasgow over the coming months.
“From Jeffrey Schlupp’s perspective, oh my word. You are sitting on your backside doing nothing at Crystal Palace. Or, you are up at Celtic playing in games like against Bayern Munich and potentially winning things. Enjoying your football. Come the summer, I would imagine that Celtic will put a deal in place to try and sign him. His decision is ‘what better option are you going to get?’.
“You might not be playing every week, but as you see with Celtic, there are so many games. He will play a good chunk of games if he were to sign on.”
Meanwhile, Rodgers has said: “I don’t know [if he will be signed permanently]. “I think initially it was just to come in and adapt to our playing style and support the squad, and anything further than that we will look at later on down the line.
“He’s a super professional. He fits the bill for us. That’s what’s always important with the players that we bring in. His mentality is good; he is a top professional. You see his body, and you see his physicality. At 32 years of age, and that’s because he looks after himself.”
However, it doesn’t look as if a full-time move to Scotland is guaranteed for Schlupp, with Celtic moving for a replacement.
Celtic make £1.6m bid for new versatile midfielder
According to Africa Foot, Celtic have made an offer worth €2m (£1.6m) to sign Kalidou Sidibe from French side En Avant Guingamp.
It is claimed that the 26-year-old ‘is attracting interest from several clubs across Europe’, however, it is the Hoops who have launched a move with a bid on the table.
Sidibe is seen as one of Celtic’s priorities to replace Schlupp and stands at 2.02m (6ft 6), making him taller than any current Hoops player.
